Omar Hurtado, a 23-year-old Latino, died Friday, Dec. 5, in Florence, according to the Los Angeles County coroner.
Hurtado was paraplegic as the result of being shot several times three years earlier, according to coroner's records.
On the day of his death, he was brought a hospital in full cardiac arrest and tested positive for methamphetamines.
His death was listed as a homicide.
