Omar Romero, 29

Died July 7, 2011

Omar Romero, a 29-year-old Latino, was found dead Thursday, July 7, near Sierra Highway and Ave B-8 in the Northeast Antelope Valley, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

A passerby discovered Romero's body on the side of the road about 5:35 a.m., said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner’s office.

Authorities were called and Romero was pronounced dead at the scene. Coroner’s records show he died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Winter said it's unknown if Romero was shot in the location where he was found. The coroner’s office had no other details about the case.
