Oscar Reyes, a 33-year-old Latino, was shot in the abdomen on Saturday, March 28, 2009, in the 15700 block of Caldwell Street in La Puente, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

Sheriff's officials reported that Reyes was standing in front of the location, when a car pulled up. The shooter exited the vehicle and fired at Reyes, authorities said. The shooter then fled in the vehicle.

Reyes was taken to a hospital, where was pronounced dead.
