Wow! My brothers and I just found out about Cookie moments ago. Really hitting hard. Grew up with him as a kid coming over to the house all throughout high school and watched him through the years become a man. The other night (prior to knowing about his passing) we were talking about funny Cookie stories and how he got his nickname. Everyone will agree without a doubt how he was the most intelligent guy out of the bunch he hung around with. Pablo "Cookie" Ortiz rest in peace my friend.

I played football at Millikan with Cookie. He was fierce on the field and good-hearted off. He was a brother to us all and the epitomy of a true friend. Life is senseless at times, this is one of those times. Cookie, my friend, your laughter was contagious, your sense of humor unrivaled, your heart bigger than life itself. Do you remember the time we borrowed G's moms car without asking, and it broke down on us in Signal Hill, and we had to push it back to 11th and Los Alamitos. You drove because you had the driving permit and all the way home you slammed the brakes on us. Hahaha...oh man, some good times! You will be missed greatly. Love ya, Bro. Rest in peace.

Man, what story do I tell about my friend since elementary? I regret the fact that I stopped keeping in contact with him after high school. Finding out that he was killed hurts more than anything I've experienced because you can't imagine it happening to such a big hearted person. I have so many stories n thoughts that remind me of how funny you were. I miss you so much bro. Sorry that I was to caught up in things that are insignificant when compared to my childhood memories of your garbage pail kids collection or you being the first homie with a car in high school (at least the only one who
wud give me a ride!) I miss you my boy! You were truly a real friend and our loss is heavens gain. I will tell you what, gods got a hell of a lineman in his linheaven an unworthy fool like myself may have a chance
to get into heaven if ur playing line for me cookie! Love n miss u so much dog! Sorry I didn't appreciate you enough in life. R.I.p. cookie monster! Aka Pablo Ortiz!
