Patrick Shillings, a 21-year-old black man, was shot several times and killed Sunday, Oct. 18, at Lassen Street and White Oak Avenue in Northridge, according to Los Angeles County coroner's officials.
Craig Harvey, chief coroner investigator, said Shillings was walking east on Lassen Street with another person when they were approached by several people.
An argument began and several shots were fired, Harvey said. Shillings ran and collapsed a short distance away. He was pronounced dead at 1:30 p.m. at the scene, Harvey said.

This is such a sad story. They had the real story on Americas Most Wanted and the Fox 11 news. This was a good young men who had big dreams. He wanted to become an EMT so he could save lives, instead his life was taken. He didn't deserve to die like that. He was at the wrong place at the wrong time. He was in the neighborhood visiting some friends... He was in a store while two groups of ppl were outside in a nearyby area arguing.... the two groups went their seperate ways. One of the groups came back in a car ready to use their guns instead of their fist or heads and shot at Patrick and his friends. Niether Patrick or any of his friends was involved in the prior argument that led to the shooting.
