Paul Medina, 25

Died Sept. 18, 2010 at 1:02 a.m.

Paul Medina, identified by the coroner's office as a 25-year-old white man, died Saturday, Sept. 18, in the 4800 block of Union Pacific Avenue in East Los Angeles, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Deputies responded to a report of shots fired, and later, victims down, about 12:50 a.m., the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.

Medina was pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim was transported to a hospital and is expected to recover.

Authorities said Medina and the other victim were in their parked vehicle when someone drove up and shot at them.

Witnesses saw a dark-colored sedan driving east on Union Pacific Avenue after the shooting.

"The motive for the murder is still under investigation, but it's likely to be gang-related,” Lt. Pat Nelson said.

Anyone with more information is urged to contact the sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.

Paul was a real person, with a family and people that loved him, no matter what his life was like. no one deserves an end like that... bad things happen Everywhere... even to the nicest, richest, most significant people, you think have better odds in the nicest neighborhoods? excuse the poor for not living in Beverly Hills and having the resources to pay for safety. you are really ignorant.

Actually, if you look at the homicide map, you will notice that the wealthier the neighborhood, the fewer the homicides. Thats a fact!
