Paul Moore, an 18-year-old black man, was shot and killed Friday, Dec. 25, in the 9300 block of South Vermont Avenue in unincorporated Los Angeles County, authorities said.
Moore was killed during a Christmas night shooting rampage in the unincorporated Athens area of southern Los Angeles County that left several people injured, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Homicide detectives were trying to determine whether the shootings were related because they occurred less than half a mile apart and within several minutes.

Another shooting was reported in the 1200 block of West 98th Street, where a male was wounded. Minutes later, another was reported near 102nd Street and Normandie Avenue, where another male was found with gunshot wounds. The status of those two victims was not known.
