Peter Ziehler, a 39-year-old Latino, died Thursday, May 26, hours after he was stabbed in the 13900 block of Aztec Street in Sylmar, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
The victim was found on the street about 11 p.m. May 25, said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office.
Ziehler was taken to a hospital in Mission Hills, where he died at 1:40 a.m. May 26.
Winter had no additional details about the case.

Peter is my cousin and this is sad moment for our family. He has six children, who will now be without a father. To stab someone as they're walking down a street is just ridiculous and downright wrong. We live in a sad world where thugs get away with this stuff and earn street cred from their loser homeboys. Society doesn't need more insecure thugs who don't have the will power or heart to go somewhere in life. Get an education, get a job, volunteer somewhere, go to church, do something positive for society, if not, just sit in your parents garage in the Valley and rot. Don't ruin other people's lives. Rest In Peace Pete. May the Lord Bless your Soul.
