Rafael Acosta Jr., 30, a Latino man, was shot as many as half a dozen times in the torso at about 9 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9.
His body was found lying next to the railroad tracks near the corner of Avalon Boulevard and Bonds Street in Carson. Gunshots had been heard in the area some hours before.
Acosta had been trying, to some extent, to turn his life around, said Sheriff's Det. Angus Ferguson. He had recently gotten a job at an Alcoa plant.

He was a great person to know, at his awful timely death he was expecting a handsome little boy, now will never know what his dad is like. Why has this investigation not been solved? Knowing the person/person's among the crowd he associated with it's very hard for anyone to keep a closed lip! This case should, even possibly could of been solved a long time ago if no one gave up on him in death. YOUR GREATLY MISSED CRICKET....... Your friend Ginger
