Rafael Tenes, a 26-year-old Latino man, was shot multiple times in the 8100 block of South Compton Avenue in Florence about 9:29 p.m. Saturday, March 22.
Tenes was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:54 p.m. Los Angeles County sheriff's homicide detectives are investigating.
Update: The L.A. County Sheriff's Department had identified the 26-year-old Latino man as Rafael Perez. The L.A. County coroner, however, has identified him as Rafael Tenes.
