Rahmir Williams, a 29-year-old black man, was shot and killed Friday, Dec. 24, near Vanowen Street and Sylmar Avenue in Van Nuys, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Williams was headed east on Vanowen when shots were fired into his vehicle just after 1 a.m., police said. The car continued down the street until it hit a fence.
He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, said LAPD Officer Reggie Taylor.
It was unclear whether the shooting was gang-related. Police do not have any suspect or vehicle descriptions.

Rahmir was a good friend of mine. I knew his wife and kids. This is so sad for them to lose a husband and a great father a day before Christmas. He will be missed by many. RIP Homie

Rahmir is my brother n my friend n will always live through those who were blessed to have known him. His suffering is over but you cowards who took him from his family will suffer in ways you can't imagine. God is love but he also is wrath, God brought his soldier home but you will suffer his wrath Gs!
