Raymond Camberos, a 19-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Thursday, March 11, in the 100 block of West Mines Avenue in Montebello, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Montebello police officers responded to a report of shots fired about 7:16 p.m., according to a department news release.
When officers arrived, they found Camberos lying on the sidewalk on the north side of Mines Avenue. He was treated by Montebello Fire Department paramedics but died at the scene at 7:40 p.m., according to Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner’s office.
Authorities believe Camberos was shot after an altercation in the basketball court area of Reggie Rodriguez Park. The case appears to be gang-related, police said.
Detectives have obtained descriptions of three people who may have been involved in the shooting: a 17- to 20-year-old Latino, 5 feet, 4 inches to 5 feet 6 inches, weighing 120 to 135 pounds, clean-shaven with black cropped hair, medium complexion, wearing a blue or dark-colored jacket zipped up; a 17- to 20-year-old Latino, 5 feet, 4 inches to 5 feet, 7 inches, 110 to 125 pounds, clean-shaven with black cropped hair, medium complexion and wearing a dark sweatshirt with hood and dark pants; and an 18- to 25-year-old Latino, 5 feet, 9 inches to 6 feet, 140 to 160 pounds, with black cropped hair, light complexion and wearing a T-shirt with black and white checkers pants.
Anyone with information about this incident or anyone involved who may have been involved in Camberos' death is asked to contact the Montebello Police Department Detective Bureau at (323) 887-1250.

I hope they catch who ever did this. I had a freind killed near that area, and that case was never solved. Just another cold case. God bless the family and Gob bless Montebello.

i dont know raymond but my mom told me about what happend, she was there when the cops got there to pick up raymonds body. my heart goes all to raymonds family. im sorry about his loss, justice will be serve who ever did this will pay i gurantee that!!!

Hey you .. its been so long and i miss u so much .. i cant stand not hearing ur voice even if it u arguing with me lol.. It was father day yesterday and the sad thing is ur son he just looks at me and he reminds me of u ./. but its ok ur looking down at him and watching him.. he gotten so big .. but well see u soon .. maybe nt knw but soon.. we luv and miss u..

DAm some people cant even remember your birthday..
