Renata Klein, a 59-year-old white woman, was found dead Wednesday, June 15, near Mile Marker 8.95 of Upper Big Tujunga Road in Angeles Crest, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Renata and her husband Dusan Klein, a 59-year-old white man, spoke to friends June 11 and are believed to have left their home on Wildwind Road in Santa Clarita that day with their dog, said officials with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Family members later reported them missing.
Authorities found Renata's body June 15 off Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road in the Angeles National Forest.
An autopsy determined she been asphyxiated and her death was ruled a homicide, said L.A. County coroner's Deputy Chief Ed Winter.
Dusan Klein’s truck was found June 26 with a dead dog inside behind a North Las Vegas bar.
On June 30 , hikers in a remote area outside Las Vegas found his body.
Nevada’s Clark County coroner’s office determined he had committed suicide and identified his remains using dental records.

One reader comment about Renata Klein
Several news outlets have done reports covering Dusan Klein's vehicle being located in North Las Vegas on June 26. The L.A. Times carries the only report stating that a dead dog was found in the vehicle. The other reports do specify that the family's dog still had not been located.
I request that the L.A. Times investigate and return with a correction, clarification or reiteration. The Sheriff's department has supplied no less than 6 different individuals for statements to the press during 3 weeks of active coverage. The press has been the spoon used by the Sheriff to feed us a diet of unsubstantiated claims and innuendo about this case. In a matter of three weeks, the Sheriff has taken 59 years of Dusan Klein's life and erased it. It has been replaced with a false argument begging the question "of a raving mad lunatic who strangled his wife and killed their dog." It should be a case study in the tactics of the type of revisionism which, when applied on a larger scale, precedes a genocide.
