We are so saddened by Nardy's death. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

He was a great man and so much more than the news report reflects. He was a man with an amazing gift for training dogs and his passion for this work was obvious to all who were lucky enough to know him. More than that, he was kind and funny and a man who cared deeply for his family.

None of these things were or can be conveyed in a news blurb (particulary one lacking all the facts), but they are his legacy.

Nardy, you will be forever missed.

Nardy Cage Jr,
Never met this man, but my brother always spoke so highly of him. My prayers and thoughts go out to his family friends and the people he touched with his kindness and knowledge....Like my brother Ruben. I know that my brother feels the loss deeply....

I have never met Nardy, but my brother always spoke so highly of him . Nardy was able to teach my brother so much about his training and his love for dogs. Meeting Nardy gave my brother such hope and knowledge for his own future...Ruben and our family have been so sad to hear about this loss. Your famliy is in our thoughts and in our prayers. Reynaud "Nardy" Cage did not live by the sword, nor deserve to die by the sword. Please remember Nardy as a loving husband, father, grandfather, premier dog trainer and member of the Inland Empire community. An early demise is always a tragedy, but this worse due to the circumstances of some not knowing the whole story before jumping to conclusions. Yancy and Reynaud Cage Jr ... may you find eternal rest and comfort.

I just want to take the time to say to the Cage family that I'm deeply sorry for their lost. It saddens me to know that Nardy and Yancy were killed in such a violent way. I'm his oldest son DE'Andre's sister. My brother lives in Memphis, TN and I had to call him and be the one to tell him the bad news about his dad and uncle. It's really sad because Nardy has 5 grandchildren that he never got to know. My mom and I would like to say to the family, we are deeply sorry for their loss. Lisa,Renaud Sr and Barbara my mom (Lenee) says that you're in her prayers.

I still can't comprehend that my favorite uncle and Godfather is gone. We miss you so much. Know that I will look out for auntie, your sons, and your grandkids. I'll never forget the things you taught me growing up and the advice you gave me about raising your God/Grandson, you've always been a father to both of us, and we love you even more for that. I know you're watching over us, and I trust we will meet again someday... Till then we love you

Our thoughts and prayers go out to you for this senseless, terrible crime that happened. We never met Nardy; however, I am the proud owner of a beautiful and smart german shepard, in which he took care of and trained until she was sent to me. You are a good man Nardy. It shows in the way you cared for the dogs. God Bless

To the ignorant person that posted on 04/08/10 @1:14pm and said they are family. Why would you say "Who the hell is Dorothy & Deandre...They are NOBODY!" apparently you don't know as much as you think you do. The lady was simply saying rest in peace. Dang, some people act so stupid. RIP Mr. Cage

I was thinking the same thing justme. Some people are so stupid. I agree that apparently there is something Nardy didn't tell "family". I guess its out now.

My heart goes out to this kind and decent family that lost a most beloved son, father and grandfather in a tragic and unwarranted circumstances. Since Reynaud is already with God, I pray his family finds a sense of peace in having had the glory of sharing his life even now that it has been cut short by senseless violence. I hope that the community will rally to assist authorities to find the thugs that engaged in inhuman reprehensible behaviour and they be brought to justice in this world, and put away from good and decent people.
