Ricardo Jarquin, a 20-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Sunday, March 13, in the 13500 block of South Yukon Street in Hawthorne, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Jarquin was shot outside an apartment complex, said Sgt. Michael Thomas of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
The shooting was reported at 9:26 p.m., Thomas said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Sheriff's Department was working with Hawthorne police detectives to find the gunman. They described the shooting as gang-related.
At least 65 homicides have been reported within two miles of the shooting since January 2007, according to coroner's data collected for The Times’ interactive Homicide Report.

Ricardo is--was--my cousin. He was the victim of gang violence. His death is a testament to the vileness of powerlessness in low-income areas.

65 homicides in a little over 4 years, within two miles of this murder, and the community isn't outraged?
The abnormal is normal and only God can judge? Come on people, take your community back!
