Richard Chavez, a 23-year-old Latino man, died of a gunshot wound to the upper torso Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008 at Ben Avon Street and Millergrove Drive in an unincorporated area near Whittier.
Chavez was pronounced dead at the scene. The San Gabriel Valley Tribune reported that Chavez, of Blythe, was killed in a car-to-car shooting.
