Ricky Elliott, a 24-year-old black man, was shot and killed Saturday, Aug. 28, in the 37000 block of Sandra Lane in Palmdale, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office, said Elliott was in front of his mother's house waiting in his car with a passenger about 10:18 p.m. when someone drove up and shot at the vehicle.
Elliott was shot several times, Winter said, and pronounced dead at the scene.
Winter did not have any additional information about the incident, including whether the passenger was injured in the assault. The Times has contacted investigators about the case and will provide an update as soon as possible.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the sheriff’s homicide bureau at (323) 890-5500.
