Ricky Jennings, an 18-year-old black man, was shot and killed Saturday, Feb. 25, near Platt Avenue and Spruce Street in Lynwood, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Sheriff's deputies were notified that a man had been shot about 3 p.m.

When officials arrived, they found Jennings injured. Paramedics were called, and he was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Coroner's records show Jennings suffered a gunshot wound to the torso.

Authorities did not release any additional information about the incident.
