Robert Lomeli III, a 36-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Thursday, April 1, in the 9100 block of Norwalk Boulevard in Santa Fe Springs, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
In a statement from the Whittier Police Department, authorities said Lomeli was at Angelo's Burger ordering food at the counter about 8:40 a.m. when an unknown assailant entered and fired a gun multiple times. Lomeli was shot several times and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect fled the area on a BMX-type bicycle and was last seen going northbound on Norwalk Boulevard, authorities said.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Whittier Police Department at (562) 945-8250.

robert was a good guy he is who he his and no one will ever change that he was a great dad and will always be rememberd as a great friend no matter what his past was he was a changed man and was doing everything in his power to change no one can judge him ..... you will always have a place in my heart you will be missed robert

Its too bad he was murdered after he began to get his life changed. He must have made someone really angry with him in prison or when he was a gangster.

Who am I to pass judgment? How about a law abiding taxpayer that is sick and tired of sociopaths being made into a person they are not.
As for what great things have I done for the community? How about not break any laws! And the same thing pertains to the majority of people in this state.
As for what will god judge me for? Well I am sure he will forgive a couple of minor traffic violations.
Please, keep god out of it. You are part of the problem in which you refuse to judge antisocial behavior and are willing to give a "pass" to mean people.
I refuse to do that. I am happy to judge these cretins and remind people of the damage they have done. No sob stories from me.

nay, the deceased did harm me, because it was my tax money that had to pay for his crimes. As you probably learned in school, the concept that any crime that has been committed, is in itself, a crime against the state (which is the public). Thus he did harm me and everyone else who had to deal with the results of his criminal activity.
If you dont care if your tax money goes to people like him, thats your perogitive.

Robert... I will miss our long talks under the moon and stars. Im sorry we never got to go have lunch later that day as we planned the night before,i only wish you had skipped breakfast and waited for me, cause then you probably still be here now. I know things would have gotten better had we had the chance we wanted for each other. I know i wasnt the only one in your life but i know you liked being that man you were when you were with me.Circumstances now will forever keep me as your Secret Lover.. @Syscum all you talk about is your tax paying. Your problem is not with the victims on these pages its with the state. All you do is complain about this that and the other. You must really have a miserable life. They say misery loves company and you get your company from the people on this blog. No I am not with the LAT. I am just a contributing reader. Nor am I miserable. On the contrary, I enjoy blogs like this and the ability for everyone to speak about this subject.
The fact you stated “only god can judge” is clear evidence you are a gang enabler. You refuse to judge violent behavior committed by psychopaths. That makes you complicient in the destruction of the neighborhoods being terrorized by these thugs.
As for my complaining about the tax money being wasted; obviously you don’t pay much in taxes. I’m tired of my hard earned money being spent on gangsters who end up dead or in prison. Wasted money. Wasted time. So much better things the money can be used for. The homicide investigations cost a lot of money and time. Prisons are quite expensive when a gangster gets multiple years in lockup. The cost of education and healthcare for a gangster is quite significant. It all adds up. Do the math.
BTW, have you been following the budget issues affecting all of us in this state?
