Roberto Alvarado, 18

Roberto Alvarado, an 18-year-old Latino, was shot and killed on July 28 in the 9800 block of Stanford Street in South Gate, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

Alvarado was walking down the street when a vehicle pulled up next to him and someone fired several times, said Craig Harvey, chief coroner's investigator. Alvarado was shot about 8:57 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene about 10 minutes later, Harvey said.
