Robleon Sheards, 19

Robleon Sheards, 19, a young black man, was shot and killed in at 240 W.84th Place in South-Central Los Angeles at about 11:47 p.m. Friday, May 23.

Sheards was attending a house party, and apparently tried to dance with a woman whose boyfriend was also at the party, said LAPD South Burea Det. Roger Guzman. The boyfriend became jealous, and argued with Sheards. The conflict was broken up, and Sheards left the party, walking outside. His assailant followed him, and the two got into a fistfight on the sidewalk. Other people were also present. Gunshots rang out, and Sheards was struck multiple times. Sheards was pronounced dead at the scene. The case remains under investigation; no suspect is in custody.

Sheards was a Transportation Security Administration worker at Los Angeles International Airport. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at (213) 485-1383.-Jill Leovy/LAT
