Ronald Rawleigh

Ronald Rawleigh, a 50-year-old black man, was found shot to death Tuesday, May 18, across from the 7600 block of Miramonte Boulevard in Florence-Firestone, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

About 3:30 a.m., residents in the area heard gunshots fired, but did not call 911, said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office.

It was not until about three hours later that a driver saw Rawleigh's body on the street and alerted authorities, Winter said.

When deputies arrived, Rawleigh — who had been shot several times —  was pronounced dead at the scene, according to coroner's records.

Anyone with information about the death of Ronald Rawleigh is asked to contact Det. Karen Shonka at the sheriff's homicide bureau at (323) 890-5500.

A classic example of the dysfunction that has engulfed these neighborhoods.

Shots fired and noone called 9-1-1.

The people who live there are mostly responsible for the violence and madness thats become the norm.

Ronald, you are truly missed. I knew you from Pramalee to Edison. What were you doing walking through that tunnel at that time of the morning. I know growing up you hung out with them flowers. but you knew the risk 4 a black man in this area.A few days after you were killed a black women was killed while working on her car.Flowers mistook her 4 a black man because her hair was cut short. In my heart i know both of the killings are related. [ R.I.P. BROTHER YOU LIVED A SHORT BUT GOOD LIFE ]
