Investigators arrested Rigoberto Ruiz, a 55-year-old Latino and resident of the Manor in connection with her death.

Ruiz is being held at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility downtown. His next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 10 in Municipal Court at Los Angeles International Airport.

One reader comment about Rosalind Olson

Apparently Ruiz randomly attacked and killed Rosalind, a fellow resident of The Manor. (On a side note, I've driven by this apartment building at least two dozen times and had no idea that it was a facility for people with mental illness.) According to one article, Ruiz "has an extensive criminal record involving crimes of violence." Olson was "was a resident who never caused any problems and was a quiet woman who kept to herself." If there was a motive for this murder, only Ruiz knows what it was.
