Ruben Camacho, a 14-year-old Latino youth, was killed in a shooting at 21700 Avalon Blvd. in Carson at about 10:34 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21.
He was in a car with friends. The car had come to a halt to make a right turn. A 2005 Chevrolet Equinox pulled up alongside, and suspects opened fire. Camacho was pronounced dead at the scene. A 15-year-old youth in the car with him was also injured by gunfire. His wounds were described as minor.
Update: Sheriff's detectives have cleared this case. At least one Latino suspect was arrested.
