Ruben Chavera, 16, a Latino man, was fatally shot at 3757 S. Idaho St. in Baldwin Park at about 3:45 p.m. Saturday, June 7.
According to the L.A. County Sheriff's Department, Chavera was standing on the sidewalk near Illinois Street and Kenmore Avenue when a dark-colored vehicle pulled up. Someone in the vehicle fired at least three shots at Chavera, police said. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
