Ryan Modica, a 39-year-old white man, was shot and killed Thursday, April 7, in the 1100 block of Del Sol Lane in Diamond Bar, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Modica, originally from Concho, Ariz., was found about 11 a.m. lying in the driveway of a home with a gunshot wound to his upper torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene after deputies responded to a report of shots fired and assault with a deadly weapon.

The shooting occurred after an argument, authorities said.

Modica’s roommate was detained Thursday for questioning. He was still detained Friday morning, but sheriff’s officials had no information about whether he had been arrested.
