I knew Ryan briefly. He used to live near me in Tujunga. I can't believe they had to shoot him when 3 people were holding him down. Such a wasted life. WHY WASN'T HE HELPED BEFORE THIS HAPPEND? He was homeless and needed a place for him and his girlfriend to stay. People please help your homeless family and friends!

Even in the most desperate times, it's illegal to commit robbery. The man was armed and was a threat to everyone around. That's why they had to shoot him. HE'S ARMED AND DANGEROUS. What do you want them to do? Ask him if he could please put the gun down?

Alisa - you can only help those that want to be helped. I personally know that homeless people have a lot of options to get help. There are plenty of shelters and food lines for them daily. Life is about choices. Unfortunately Ryan made the wrong choice.

I think u people should stop and think! That could have been your son, daughter, companion, or friend they shot. How would u feel if u knew them or the people who were close to them? Run your mouths only after u stop and think. And its so assuring to hear an officer comment to shoot to kill and not give a crap about a human life. Hope I'm not speeding in your area! Might get shot for handing u my drivers license!! My heart goes out to the loved ones William Reese! May he rest in peace and you find away to find peace in your hearts!

My Grandson Ryan was a wonderful, loving person that I miss so much. He had a way of making you laugh and smile even if the day was not going as good as it could.
Ryan I miss you, please know how much you are loved.
While driving in my car at age 3 he always wanted the top down, he would say ROLL IT BACK GRANDMA.
