Died Jan. 15, 2012

Ernie Salgado, a 41-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Sunday, Jan. 15, in the 13000 block of Thistle Avenue in Norwalk, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Salgado and another person were shot at a party about 1 a.m., said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office.

Salgado was loaded in a car by friends who attempted to get him help, Winter said. The friends stopped the car at Bloomfield and Goller avenues, where they were met by paramedics. Officials pronounced Salgado dead at the scene at 1:24 a.m.

Winter had no information about the other victim.
