Sandro Gutierrez, 27

Sandro Gutierrez, a 27-year-old Latino, died Thursday, June 9, seven years after he was shot in the 1500 block of West 46th Street in Vermont Square, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

In 2004, Gutierrez was shot in the neck, said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office.

He lived as a quadriplegic yet ultimately died as a result of his injury, Winter said.

Gutierrez died at California Hospital Medical Center on June 9 at 2:28 p.m.
