Santos Turcios, 49

Died Dec. 6, 2010

Santos Turcios, a 49-year-old Latino, was stabbed to death Monday, Dec. 6, in the 900 block of West 82nd Street in Vermont Knolls, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Turcios got into an argument with a 15-year-old boy at an apartment complex about 9:10 p.m., police said. He was confronting the youth because the boy was drinking with Turcios' teenage daughter, police said. During the dispute, the boy allegedly stabbed Turcios then fled.

Authorities were called and paramedics rushed Turcios to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Officers found the boy Tuesday and arrested him on suspicion of murder. His name was not released because he is a juvenile. Police have not located the weapon and the killing remains under investigation.

Anyone with more information is asked to call LAPD Dets. John Ferreria or Eric Crosson at (213) 485-1383 or leave anonymous tips at (800) 222-8477.

Santos was like a dad to me. He was there for me when my father wasnt.Santos opened his home to my wife and I when we needed help. I will always be greatful for everything he did. He was a wonderful father, husband , friend, and over all just a kind hearted person that that would give you his shirt off his back if you asked. We all miss you and love you dearly. We will never forget you. We will all see you in heaven Santos AKA "MI PELONSITO".

I remain in shock. I can't believe that a human being is actually capable of doing such horrific acts. Santos, will forever stay close to our hearts. Thank you for leaving us beautiful nieces and nephews.

This man had a heart of gold. No one deserves what was done to him. We all have to part from this world, but why like this?

My condolences goes out to this family. How many girls can say they have a father that cares so much that he would confront the young man, who was drinking with his underage daughter. I hope all the people that Mr. Turcios helped in his lifetime will now return the favor and wrapped their arms around his young daughter to keep her from being consumed by guilt, and going down a dark and dangerous road.

This murder probably would not have happened if the boy hadn't been drinking. How did he get his hands on alcohol in the first place? In this state, control of alcoholic beveridges is just a joke! Underage kids are able to get whatever they want with no trouble at all.

Yuri,

Ever wonder why this man confrunted a 15 year old kid and not his own daughter? I doubt it very seriously if the daughter was there against her will. Sometimes we as parents blame the wrong person and speak out towards the wrong person. May be he should have picked up his little girl by the the hair and dragged her butt back home where she should have been and not out drinking with some boy in the dark.

I hope every Young girl is reading this clip.
Nothing good happens in the streets,
stay home and only go out with family
until you are of age.
And never and i say never confront no one, i mean NO one unless you are ready to defend your self.
Most people thease days are strapped.
be carfull every one, life is to short
to get jammed up in somthing like this.
God bless the family.

No, Pedro Sanchez my boyfriend did not do this horrible thing. My Father have 11 children and I am one of the oldest. In behalf of my family " pls dont ask this questions " This is just not the time to be asking and wondering. We are in so much pain and really heart broken.
What you guys can do from our tragedy is advise all your young ones in your family to stay out the streets.

Santos and my Mom were the youngest out of 10, only 2 years apart. They looked like identical twins maybe thats why i loved him soo much i could just call him mom it was the same face lol. I still can't fathom how a little boy just snatched my Uncles life so fast and so cruel for something so stupid!! it kills me everyday to think I will never see him, hear his voice, or give him one of those huge bear hugs and tell him how much i love him like i always did. Please lets not blame my little cousin...its not her fault she loved her dad so much and never wanted this to happen. She's going through enough. MI TIO SANTOS QUERIDO I WILL NEVER FORGET U!
Thank You for all your love and the good times and for making my childhood sooo HAPPY. we miss u!
