Sebastian Caldera Jr., an 18-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Friday, March 26, at Pierce Street and Laurel Canyon Boulevard in Pacoima, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Caldera was walking in the 10100 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard about 5 p.m. when two male assailants approached and shot him, police said.
The suspects fled, police said, and Caldera died at the scene.
Authorities said the shooting happened after Caldera had had an argument with two men.

Having been his teacher I am greatly saddened and angered by his murder. He was a gentle giant who always smiled even during my "reganadas". Very respectful young man who did not deserve death so young at the hands of others. Que dios te tenga en su gloria mijo. To his family...we at SFHS were greatly affected by this...nuestro mas sentido pesame. Your Teacher who always wanted the best for you.

Boobie 2010 has come and gone faster than I have come to realize. All of the memories We are making now, none of them compare to all the times we spent kicking it with you. You we one cool ass homie... A True Friend, one that no one else can compare to. I will never meet some one as chill and cool as you. The day you were taken from us still sits clearly in my head, it is something I will never forget. I thought that time would ease the heartache but I feel like nothing has changed. We think about you everyday and You are still a part of our lives. I wish so bad you were still here; but your memory will live on in our hearts forever.
