Sergio Santiago, a 17-year-old Latino, was shot in the left side of his chest July 2 in the 17100 block of Coolwater Avenue in Palmdale, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.
Santiago, of Lancaster, was found shot in the street about 11 p.m. July 2, said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office. Santiago was taken to the hospital after the shooting and underwent surgery to treat his wound, Winter said.
He was pronounced dead at 12:20 a.m. on July 3. Winter said authorities believe the shooting may have been gang-related.

He was my brother we had fun together we fought we sang and we loved each other the way brother and sister do. Always said I love you to each other no matter what He was one of the most important people in my life. But believe me my brother you will live on through me I will never forget our laughs and graet memories together. Even though I won't see you anymore you will always be in my thoughts.
Ignorent people are the ones who say murder is okay not matter what my brother was he was a person who loved and was loved and for that young man to end his life was not ok. He took our precious joy away and now we live scared and sad.

sergio was a good friend of mine he always made everyone laugh .his smile will light up a room we all lost someone special that day he will forever be in our hearts...for ppl who didnt know him stop trying to make up stories....

I wish all of these kids could be taken out of those gang banger areas and given a chance in a safe environment. Dying in the street at 17. What a shame. This was a child with his life ahead of him.

i lost a close friend from the grafitii krew . we called him FAXER from the SELF MADE KREW , he passed away because of some haters, i feel u guys, rest in peace much respect VERSE.
