Shamida Ward, a 32-year-old black woman, was fatally stabbed Saturday, Nov. 20, in the 700 block of West Compton Boulevard in Compton, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Ward was assaulted about 8:50 a.m., according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department news release. She was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. According to coroner's records, she suffered multiple stab wounds.
Several hours after Ward was killed, Kamilah Dennis, a 32-year-old black woman, was arrested on suspicion of murder, said sheriff’s Sgt. Sylvia Brossoit.
Dennis, a transient, was being held on $1-million bail at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood.

It's sad that we as humans feel that violence is the key to solving problems especially when we're angry. People (the military) are fighting for our safety in these foriegn countries but with things happening so close to home they should stay here and save us from the killings.
