Sidney Garcia, a 68-year-old Latino, died Thursday, Sept. 8, in the 9400 block of San Fernando Road in Sun Valley, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
In January 2000, Garcia was found lying on a sidewalk with head trauma, said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner’s office.
Garcia was taken to Pacifica Hospital of the Valley, where he remained for the last 11 years, Winter said. Garcia’s death was ruled a homicide.
The coroner's office had no other information about the case, including the actual incident location or if anyone had been arrested in connection with Garcia's injuries.
