Stephen Bullock

Stephen Bullock, a 33-year-old black man, was shot and killed by a sheriff's deputy Friday, Feb. 18, in the 900 block of East New York Drive in Altadena, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Deputies stopped two men in a vehicle for a traffic violation about 11:30 p.m., Sgt. Debra Herman said. Bullock got out of the passenger side of the car and ran, and deputies chased him.

After a couple hundred yards, Bullock stopped and struggled with one of the deputies, Sheriff’s Capt. Ray Leyva said. When he pulled a gun from his waistband, the deputy pulled his weapon and fired one shot at the suspect, Leyva said.

Bullock was pronounced dead at the scene. A gun was recovered from the location.

The deputy’s name was not released.

The press should have also exploited the fact that he was a tribal member of the Colorado River Indian Tribes...

No, all that needs to be known about him by the public is that he was a violent man with a gun who was trying to kill a deputy. Why try to make that tribe look bad?

7.62x39, were you there to witness the cops statements? I didn't think so. Please enlight me and tell me of a time where a cop has admitted in making a mistake.

@Jag I see your another Chris Doner blaming the police for everything, I'm guessing one of two things happen to you. 1) you were trying to become a police officer and washed out like most people who try and fail stay bitter for life and find fault with everything the police do 2) or you or someone close to you got a beat down of a life time by the police, again victims of a police beat downs remain bitter for a long long time, man get over it, I know it was a life long dream of yours to become a LEO, hey you washed out police work isn't for everyone you failed move on go flip burgers and split in it so my partner and I can give another beat down lol, loser.

— 7.62, that's the lamest excuse you can come up with? Why on earth would I want to be a cop? If I did I would have NOT bothered to go to graduate school. Being a cop is probably the simplest job any high school graduate can get. This is the main reason there are so many incompetent cops patrolling our streets. I hate to burst your bubble, but I don't flip burgers. I happen to have a pretty good paying job that puts above the average working class of my generation. I don't blame the cops for everything, but I do blame them for taking someone's life away specially when the victim is unarmed and shot in the back and they are hardly ever held accountable. It appears this is the only profession in the world where cops NEVER make a mistake.
