Steveland Mouten, 21, a black man, was killed in a drive-by shooting at 1217 W. 90th Place in South Los Angeles about 5:55 p.m. Friday, June 6.
According to L.A. County Sheriff's Department, Mouten was standing outside when a white vehicle drove by. Three black men inside the vehicle opened fire, hitting Mouten several times in the upper torso. Mouten was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. According to authorities, the gunmen were seen driving west on 90th Place, then north on Normandie Avenue. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact L.A. Steveland was my cousin. my bestfriend. the family misses him so much. i wish he was here to see his son grow up. this was a senseless tragedy. he was killed for no reason. everyone needs to wake up and stop killing one another. raymond i miss u and love you forever.
