Tarae Dyson, 21

Died July 23, 2010

Tarae Dyson, a 21-year-old black man, was shot and killed Friday, July 23, in the 2000 block of North Salinas Avenue in Compton, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Sheriff's homicide Det. Karen Shonka, who is handling the investigation, said Dyson was driving into his residence when someone began shooting into his car.

He was taken to a hospital where he died at 12:41 a.m. According to coroner's records, Dyson was shot several times.

Investigators do not have a description of the shooter.

The incident is not believed to be gang-related.

A half a year later, Homicide report is the worst! Do your research I'm sure this young man death file was sitting right on top of the corner desk, where all thee other death file were sitting and your journalist dropprd the ball!
If the Homicide report by Los Angeles Times can't get public information right, why should anyone believe this soon to be dyfunct newspaper, would get any story that take alittle investigating right!!

The Times does its best to track homicides in L.A. County each week, using the coroner's weekly report as a starting point. We routinely inquire about cases that do not appear on that list that we have reported in print or on our blogs. We also try to reconcile police and sheriff's data with coroner's reports, which is how we learned of this homicide.
