Tony Calloway, 21

Died Sept. 18, 2011

Tony Calloway, a 21-year-old black man, was fatally shot Sunday, Sept. 18, in the 2300 block of Locust Avenue in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Calloway was standing with a group of males on a sidewalk about 8:20 p.m. when an unknown person shot at them, according to a Long Beach Police Department news release.

Calloway was struck in the upper body, officials said, and was taken to a hospital for treatment, but he did not survive.

Anyone with information about the killing is asked to call homicide Dets. Greg Krabbe or Mark McGuire at (562) 570-7244. Tipsters who would like to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
