Trancito Hernandez, a 27-year-old Latino man, was found dead in the 2900 block of South Norton Avenue in the Jefferson Park area about 6 a.m. Monday, March 10. He was declared dead at the scene by paramedics at 6:45 a.m.
According to authorities, Hernandez had parked his car and was walking to his mother's house when at least one assailant approached and shot him. Officer Ana Aguirre of LAPD's media relations office said residents in the area heard gunshots about midnight, but did not immediately report them to police.
