Trayvon Earl Jeffers, a 28-year-old black man, was shot several times in the 100 block of Puddingstone Drive in Frank G. Bonelli Park in San Dimas. He died on Saturday, June 6, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

Jeffers got into an argument with a group of men at the boat launch in the park, and he was found with several gunshot wounds on the north shore of the picnic area, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Five reader comments about Trayvon Jeffers

I Knew Trayvon and he was a fun loving person. That Always made me laugh. I was so hurt when I heard what happen to him.His own so call homeboy did this to him. And no one said anything or came foward in his murde and every one at that park knew who killed him. It's sad I even heard that my dear friend Trayvon was begging for his life and telling the guy to stop shooting him.

It's just sad to see him go so soon for another guy being crazy and heartless. He was really changing his life. I was proud of him. My heart goes out to his mother, daughters, sisters, and girlfriend. They lost someone dear to them. He will be truly miss...

Well my name is Mercedes Smith and at this point of this case I am concerned that this matter is not being handled as serious as this situation should be. With that being said there are many witnesses that Damion "Dank" Moore was the killer of Trayvon Earl Jeffers. This man has been in custody mulitiply times and has not yet been charged with this crime my question to you is why? All I ask is that someone besides my self come forward and speak on this matter. Put your self in my family shoes and see how this would fill to be one hundred percent sure of your murderer and he is free. Trayvon had changed for the better not only for himself but for those who were around him. All I want to do is bring this to an end so my family could smile again at ease. Trayvon I love you and will always miss you gone but never forgotten. Ladii Nogood
