Victor Avila, 19

Victor Avila, a 19-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Tuesday, Oct. 11, in the 2300 block of Walter Street in Florence-Firestone, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

The shooting occurred shortly before 6 p.m., the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.

After the attack, Avila was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead about 30 minutes later.

Deputies are looking for at least two suspects. 

Since January 2007, at least 121 homicides have been reported within two miles of the shooting scene, according to a Times Homicide Report database.
