Victor Romero, 31

Died Aug. 22, 2007 at 12:48 p.m.

Victor Romero, 31, a Latino man, was walking a bicycle near the intersection of Crown Hill and Loma near Belmont High School at about 12:40 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22.

A suspect got out of a silver or grey Jeep Cherokee and fired once, then got back in and fired again. Romero's time of death was listed as 12:48 p.m.

Romero was related to an employee at Belmont High, Faustino said. Police said they believe the gang involvement of his younger years was behind him. He may have been beyond it, but was still a convenient target to the killers.
