Virgilio Silva, a 57-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Monday, Oct. 27, at 3543 Platt Ave. in Lynwood, according to authorities.
Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies called to the scene found Silva lying in the street with a gunshot to his upper torso, according to sheriff's news release. Silva's 24-year-old son also was wounded in the incident.
Witnesses told deputies that two Latino men had approached the Silvas and fired several times before running away.
Silva was pronounced dead at the hospital. His son was treated and released.
