Warren Bernard Samuels, 45

Warren Bernard Samuels, a 45-year-old black man, was shot several times in the 200 block of West Regent Street in Inglewood about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 8. Samuels was taken by ambulance to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

According to Inglewood Police Department officials, Samuels was loading items into his car when a suspect approached and shot him several times. The suspect then barricaded himself inside a nearby apartment building. Police said residents were evacuated from the building. A SWAT team was called in. Two suspects were detained. Police, however, did not release their names.
