Wayne McKinney, 24, a black man, was shot multiple times near the intersection of Vermont and Slauson avenues in L.A., and died at 9:44 p.m. Friday, May 25.
He was in a car with a friend when a black man or youth on the sidewalk called out to them a gang challenge, then fired, striking McKinney. His companion drove away, and stopped a short distance away.
