One reader comment about Wilbert Jackson

I was across Fig when it happened..Two male blacks threw gang signs at a white late 80s model cutlass heading northbound on Fig..the car then turned and headed East on 50th St..It then stopped at the NorthEast corner of 51st and Fig..then turned left and drove up to the victims..One victim stood in shock when he saw a male black point a M14 rifle at him..two shots were fired into his chest...the second victim immediately began to run Southbound on Fig..I kid you not when I say this, but the shooter leaned out of the car's window, took his time and aimed at the victims back..shooting him twice. The car then drove Southbound on Fig. and made a right and headed West on 52nd St...The FOUR shots created a silence that was finally broken five seconds later by the scream of a lady exiting the fish store. It sent chills down my back...Then, the "homeboys" of the victims ran up to each of the victims and instead of staying there and helping them until help arrived, they drew their own weapons and jumped into an awaiting car and drove off in pursuit of the shooter's vehicle. NO ONE approached the victims...Then the LAPD's airship night sun (the spotlight) flooded the corner with light, exposing the victim's bright red blood seeping into the street's drainage system...both literally and figuratively, the victim's life was drained by the vicious streets of South Central L.A. Truly Sad."
