Homicide Report > William Hansbrough, 36
William Hansbrough, 36
Died March 4, 2010 at 10:06 a.m.
William Hansbrough, a 36-year-old black man, was strangled Thursday, March 4, in his County Jail cell in the 400 block of Bauchet Street in Chinatown, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
At the time of his death, Hansbrough was incarcerated at the Twin Towers jail on charges of possessing a firearm as an ex-felon. Hansbrough had been sharing a cell with Jamar Tucker, a 26-year-old black man whom authorities described as his friend and fellow 107 Hoovers gang member.
Tucker, who is fighting a death sentence in another conviction, had recently been transferred to Twin Towers from Tehachapi State Prison, where he was serving 11 life sentences for other crimes, according to Det. Kenneth Clark of the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau.
Tucker and Hansbrough had been sharing a cell for about a month when friction started, Clark said.
After Hansbrough's death, Clark said, investigators determined that Tucker was apparently angry with his cellmate because he believed Hansbrough was taking credit for crimes he didn't do. Tucker is accused of strangling Hansbrough Thursday morning, then alerted a deputy that his cellmate was dead, Clark said.
During the homicide investigation, Clark said that Tucker freely admitted to killing Hansbrough. Tucker has been charged with murder and remains at Twin Towers jail.

Why was Tucker even allowed to be brought back down here?
If there was any reason for him to be in front of a judge, it should have been at the prison, not here.
latina dafney, as for your comments about the deceased, perhaps you can explain to us why god is embracing him considering all the evil deeds he has done to other people?
March 14, 2010 at 1:18 p.m.
Syscom3, what are all the "evil deeds" this person did to other people? Are you privy to his rap sheet or something? All it said in the article was that he was in prison for possessing a firearm as an ex-felon. I believe Oliver North could be charged with that same crime on any given day.
March 14, 2010 at 8:49 p.m.
"Tucker, a 26-year-old black man whom authorities described as his friend and fellow 107 Hoovers gang member. "
The deceased was a gangster, which meant he was involved with a lot of violent crimes.
March 14, 2010 at 10:40 p.m.
mack,
regarding "evil deeds", it says that he was serving 11 life sentences for other crimes. ... syscom3, i dont understand why alot of people dislike your comments. like someone else said in some other post, thankyou for keeping it real and not sugar coating things.

March 17, 2010 at 11:46 a.m.
Lil C Dogg, why do you refer to him as a "fallen soldier"?
Who was he at war with? Did he have legal authorization to use violence?
March 17, 2010 at 1:34 p.m.
"Syscom3". Whoever you are, you need to put a sock in it Grøøve! All you judgemental a** folks out there, so quick to speak on thing you don't and nor will you ever understand. Tiny Moo was not only a soldier, but a solid soldier @ that. We do what we do. We Grøøve how we Grøøve. That's that.

syscom3...This is not the right forum for your racist and insensitive rhetoric. There are many sites that would love to read what you have to say...this isn't one of them. This is for the loved ones of the deceased to come and pay their respects. These people are grieving...Respect that! And BTW...God forgives, maybe you should too.
March 18, 2010 at 2:21 p.m.
LIL MADMAN, answer my question: Why do you refer to the deceased as being a soldier? Was he an active member of the armed forces, or was he considered a soldier as part of his gang (in which case, hes a sociopath or urban terrorist).
CARLTON; stop screaming "racism" whenever you find you're in disagreement with someone. The word itself has been cheapened so much that it now means nothing.
As for the purpose of this blog, its been said many times that the good and bad about the deceased can be talked about.
Mr. Hansbrough was a gangster and lets not sugarcoat the life he led. You may say good things about him. But you fail to recognize a lot of people were victimized by what he did and the people he associated with, and they have a totally different viewpoint.
I am waiting for the deceased's family or friends to apologize to the neighborhood, his victims and to the state for the lawlessness he was a part of.

i too have read many posts and appreciate the comments of syscom3. he speaks for many of us.
March 18, 2010 at 6:21 p.m.
I too have read Syscom's posts and they are spot on. Spare me the "racist" crap. Please point out one thing he's said that in anyway could be considered racist. I won't hold my breath.
And spare me the "soldier" BS. Invoking that term to describe a cowardly gangster is a joke to the real men and women with real courage, bravery, integrity, and honor who wear a uniform. Most of you have absolutely no concept of what that means. Keep on syscom....
March 19, 2010 at 1:01 p.m.
Syscom-learn how to read idiot! It said tucker was serving 11 life sentences, not Hansbrough...and so what! who died and made u judge? I sure you got some S*#t in your background that you aint to proud of....and all of those who are with him, ya shallow and have no depth....no one is praising anything the murder victim has done nor do we know his back ground, beside he was arrested on gun charge...do u know how many people get arrested on Bulls*&t charges?...so why judge him? I have many friends who r "soldiers"...whether you kill for the USA or for your hood....a life is a life! and regardless of what your past was, a person still deserve a dignified death. Respect these people grieving process you moron!
March 20, 2010 at 6:35 p.m.
"Tucker, a 26-year-old black man whom authorities described as his friend and fellow 107 Hoovers gang member. "
Both were fellow gangsters. "Friend and Fellow".
I can also safely report that my past doesn't include any conviction or arrest for type of crime. And for the vast number of people in my neighborhood and social circle, that also holds true.
As for "soldiers", just what reason do you kill for your neighborhood? Who gave you the right to do that?
thecoming .... I will pass judgment on the deceased because of who he was affiliated with. He was a gangster. A sociopath. He is the reason those neighborhoods are killing zones and are falling to pieces.
March 21, 2010 at 5:07 p.m.

SYSCOM
Grow up, let people express their sorrow without condemning the dead.
March 30, 2010 at 5:28 p.m.
cali, I will give opinion on the dead gangsters as appropriate.
I refuse to allow people to say how great the deceased was without challenge, when in fact they were sociopaths and down right rotten.
March 30, 2010 at 9:20 p.m.
when you judge others you will be judged it is for the Lord God to judge and no one else, judge the society that has set these devices to get you caught in a world of deception not the helpless soul who has to do what it takes to survive
April 1, 2010 at 12:01 a.m.
All of you who are targeting people like syscom3 for judging the deceased need to instead talk to your homies and gangsta girls about judging people from other neighborhoods. Its people like William here who judge whether or not someone lives or dies based on where they are from. Also enough already with all the happy fairy tale afterlife crap where god embraces the p.o.s. and he forever watches over the rest of the homies and drinks the beer they pour on the ground. Get real people. Dead is DEAD!
April 1, 2010 at 7:54 a.m.
getalifepeople, a failure to judge people for the actions that rsult in criminality means you are morally challanged.
The whole rationale behind the criminal justice system since the beginning of civilization began, is to identify harmfull behavior and to let the offender know that the action is intolerable.
And if what you say is true, is not also true that since we cannot judge others, then we might as well have no civil or criminal trials?

Syscom3 has a personal vendetta against gang members. You can just sense that his blood is boiling with hate as he types. He probably got punked a lot when he was younger. I grew up in a "hood" and had a lot of friends that were gang members because they were the same kids that I grew up with in my apartments, played sports with, went to school with. My best friend was shot in the head by a gang member right in front of me at the park in 98'. I chose to get my education, and I'm a working professional with no criminal record. I don't condone gang members in the least bit but I understand there struggle. I can sympathize. I volunteer to help at risk youth, and try to help them see the bigger picture. Syscom3's hate and judgement are not a part of the solution. It's sad.
April 8, 2010 at 7:46 p.m.
619-
We should all have vendettas against these punks; only then will this senseless killing and the destruction of brown and black neighborhoods all across the country end. You don't condone gang members but you "understand their struggle?" We all have choices and everyday most people make the right ones, but the sociopath gang members that make the wrong ones and destroying these neighborhoods. Pointing out those choices and consequences isn't "hate", it's reality, and it's sad that syscom probably doesn't live in these neighborhoods yet shows more care and concern for them then most who DO live there.
April 10, 2010 at 11:09 a.m.
"619", tell me about all the great things gangs do for the city and state. Give me a valid reason not to hate them.
Better than that; how about going to a cemetery and ask all the dead people there; "raise a hand if you think the gangster lifestyle was good for you and your family".
April 10, 2010 at 6:42 p.m.
I was a bit critical of syscom3 when I first started reading his posts. But after seeing his posts on a friend of mine that was shot to death in East LA, I started to read more into his writing. What he is saying is gansters kill other gansters. That is just a fact of life. Oh the person who murdered Tito or William is such a beautiful soul and when he gets murdered we will write all these wonderful memorials about them too. Why wait, all you murdering gansters will be in heaven one day too. And your RIP's we be in in vain. Sorry but you are all going to hell. The 50,000 or more gang members in LA deserve what they get. The lord will not forgive you, if there even is one.
April 11, 2010 at 1:42 a.m.
Retarded gangsters!! What loyalty! You'll kill each other over crime credits. It is sad that people that live there glorify the BS life style by making excuses for them! Educate yourselves to give your children a chance at a life and not end up here “homicide blog” where some of us dont think is sad that another idiot gangster is dead!
April 12, 2010 at 6:52 p.m.
I'M NOT EVEN FROM L.A.....AND I'M TIRED OF READING THIS GUY SYSCOM 3 POSTS......HERE IS A GUY WHO'S BEEN PUNKED HIS WHOLE LIFE......GET OVER IT...GANGSTAS BEN AROUND SINCE AL CAPONE....AINT GOIN NOWHERE....GET A DAMN LIFE.....I BET THIS GUY LIVES ON THIS WEBSITE......LET THESE PEOPLE GRIEVE THIER LOVED ONES...NOBODY CARES WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY.....IF YOU SO BAD...MEET ONE OF THESE GUYS SOMWHERE AND TALK FACE TO FACE...I BET HE WONT DO THAT.....
April 13, 2010 at 9:12 p.m.
Man, don't you fools know there is a heaven and hell. Do you think the lord will forgive you when you die. Don't you know a mortal sin is a eternity in hell. Why should he forgive . He will forgive you for minor sins but not for mortal sins. So don't think your homie is in the Lords hands now. He is burning in hell with the Devil. I mean If you really believe, then you should know. ASJA I am sorry for your loss, hopefully your father has not commited any mortal sins. Now is the time for you to be a good mother and show your children that our life as bangers is a DEAD end street. I wish I knew what I know now 10 ten years ago. Life in a wheel chair sucks. Peeing in a bag sucks. Will somebody please change my daiper!?
April 14, 2010 at 4:45 p.m.
J Rock-
I care what Syscom says, and apparently many others on here too, so really, I don't really care what you think either.
"Getting punked" his whole life? Says who? Just because he dares to call it how it is instead of some BS fairly tale? Please.
"IF YOU SO BAD...MEET ONE OF THESE GUYS SOMWHERE AND TALK FACE TO FACE...I BET HE WONT DO THAT....."
Challenging his toughness and manhood while defending the ultimate cowards in society, gangsters. Hilarious. Newsflash, bro- Being able to pull a trigger doesn't mean you're bad, it means quite the opposite.
April 15, 2010 at 7:57 p.m.
Ayo I was in the pen wit that fool lil Hoova Ray when they punked him. He got raped when he was locked up north and been crazy ever since.

William Hansbrough is my big brother and i love him no matter what he has done in his life....you people are acting like you have never done anything wrong in your life...well let me inform you a little about him.
He is a wonderful brother, uncle and son & friend to those who were in his heart. yes, my mother & I feel the lost everyday and will continue to feel this lost. if you didn't know him then don't judge him that's for god to do not for you fake a$$ people that don't have anything better to do. my brother was very talented he had a wonderful mind and for those of you who knew him that are post your comments on this you knew that his rapping skills were sick as hell...."I'M HIS NUMBER ONE FAN AND WILL ALWAYS BE". The System fail to keep my brother safe. I ask myself everyday along with many others why in the hell was Jamar Tucker in the cell with my brother in the first place....the detective on the case told my mom some bulls@!t.
rest in peace to my brother and i love you & miss you always. my heart bleeds everyday....THREE HEARTS BEATING AS ONE"

to syscom3 : I Will not apologize for my brothers actions because he has already done that before his passing. You are acting as if you have something personal against him.
Like i have stated before yes he did somethings that he wasn't proud of but he had to what he did to servive...you probably never been where were from and will never go and make it out alive anyways....I can understand how some people may have a different view but please understand that it's people like you that makes it hard for my mother. Yes, he is her son so please watch you mouth.

PLEASE let us have our memories of my brother. you people have turn this into personal issues between each other but please try to put yourself in our shoes.
We are trying to complete our healing process. At least try to have a little respect for my mom and his girls. Asja auntie loves you always and always remember your daddy loved you.
I'm reading these post and death is death no matter if your fighting for USA or your hood. I know this very well my husband is military and he's @ war right now fighting so you don't have to but you choose to fight over this let him rest please none of you knew him.
There is only one judge and that's GOD. We are his family and were hard working people do we deserve this really. People you do not know his background your just judging him because it's human nature to behave in such a way.
You don't care that he was trying to change his life to try and become a better person for his kids all you hear is the negative because that's all you have to go on. This world is very sad because it has come to this i have lost one brother and i may lose my husband @ war but you people do not care as long as your ego is fed. Thank You "thecoming"

Syscom3 and chris are one in the same-or they know each other very well- he is always defending whatever comments syscom3 makes. Syscom3 is a very rude and judgemental individual and his comments are not " Keeping it real" They are filled with hatred for gang members and their families. If you were keeping it real and not sugar coating it like you say you are, you would be honest and admit that you hate gang members because of something you experienced in the past involving a gang or you are a former gang member. Never the less I think you enjoy the controversy you cause with your comments and I think you are a bitter person too. However ,I do not think you are a racist, confused and not truly informed of what living in the "hood" really consist of, but not a racist
May 20, 2010 at 8:39 a.m.
You're absolutely right Weezy, I do hate gang bangers. They are cowards and societal scum. There, feel better? I don't hate their families, but I also have no patience for excuse making, glamorizing, and downright promoting that way of life. It's amazing that more people in the communities it directly destroys don't feel the same way, which is why we see the cycle continue.
May 20, 2010 at 9:59 a.m.
If you hate them so much...go tell one to his face.
May 20, 2010 at 11:38 a.m.
Will Someone please explain to me what this berating peoples family and friends....will some one please elaborate on what good its doing.....Your not confronting gang members.......your being a coward from behind a computer screen...if you guys want to do something.....Syscum and ALL of her boyfriends ...Why dont you guys rent out a hall and invite the people you hate so much..and ask them ...and berate them to their faces. Real men Talk face to face...not like cowards from behind a screen.......Let's see how much you really want to stop things...since you post so much...post the time and meeting place this will happen.....DO IT FOR THE COMMUNITY YOU SAY YOU UPHOLD.....
May 20, 2010 at 11:47 a.m.
Cali-
Oh, here comes more of the macho "say it to my face" BS. Spare me. Scary internet gangsters....ooohhh.....
What your describing happens all the time....they're called "town hall meetings", and from what I've read and observed first-hand, participation in communities like yours hasn't been what we call "valued".
BTW...."real men", as you referred to above, don't join gangs, steal, kill, etc. Just thought you might want to get your descriptions straight.
May 20, 2010 at 2:41 p.m.
Weezy, I am honored to think you don't consider me a racist.
As for controversy? Don't you think the 2,819 victims listed in this blog would think that maybe if someone had spoken up years ago, they wouldn't be on this list?
The only people afraid of controversy are the ones who are in denial or are so PC, they are scared of their own shadow.
May 20, 2010 at 4:11 p.m.
I Said you go to the town hall meeting...and if you think imma Coward ill givee ya my e mail so we can arrange for a visit......I dont hide behind a screen.........YOU GO TO THE TOWN HALL MEETING ...SAYING THE SAME THINGS
May 21, 2010 at 2:27 p.m.
Cali-
Yawn. I never claimed you're a coward, if I remember right, you're the one that made that claim. I'm not either, but I have better things to do with my time than seeing who's more macho and meeting with you.
May 21, 2010 at 4:31 p.m.
Wow, by reading all these comments are we serious.... From the last time I checked and studied that we are all human and we all make mistakes. Some of us make more than others, but we are all guilty of sin. We are so quick to judge others, but if we were to look at our skeletons in the closet!!!!! I believe that God forgives us for all of our sins. Can the family be at peace? They have lost a brother, son , and father!!!!
Rest now William because you are not in this world of hatred and love.
May 21, 2010 at 7:12 p.m.
KEEKEE, some people make mistakes, and then there are other people who make mistakes of a monumental proportion.
And the vast majority of people in this world do not commit serious felonies, nor join gangs. Those people do not have skeletons in their closets.
Stop with this rhetoric that god forgives people who inflict violent harm on people. He sends them right to the down escalator so as his place is not contaminated by violent individuals.

syscom is just keeping it real. He understands more than a lot of people are willing to admit.
May 14, 2011 at 3:57 p.m.
Calling this thug a "soldier" is an insult to anyone in the military. Banging only has two endings: death or prison and leaves a trail of misery to either place.
May 16, 2011 at 2:33 a.m.
hope the young man was saved and may his death bring many to the lord Jesus Christ for salvation. My condolences to the family.
May 28, 2011 at 8:15 p.m.
im so very sorry for your lost and i just got one thing to say to lil fee you know you extra out never dat jamar tucker has always been a rider i bet you wont say that bs in his face. im jamar tucker sister and i love my baby brother i dont know why he did what he did and no one else does eather all i can say is that my brother has a good heart and he is a really good person. nobody knows the whole story and im not saying it ok to take a life because its not but no matter what im gonna love my brother for ever and always.and if you read the peper you will know whats really good
Jan. 26, 2012 at 3:47 a.m.
@Syscom3- CRACKER's talking out of turn again. Latina cannot answer question and your opinion has'nt put money in anyone's pocket's, so WHO GIVES A FCK what you want to know or assume. Everytime I see you "down talking" the deseased I'm going to correct your red-neck ass. . . stay in a child's place boy!
May 20, 2012 at 1:23 p.m.
First off, you can't believe everything you read. My nephew is not serving 11 life sentences, second, he DID NOT GET PUNKED up north and he DIDNT get raped! He committed a crime and he has to do the time. May god rest his victims soul.
May 30, 2012 at 3:06 p.m.
I appreciate the comments from syscom3. I read the blog all the time, and I do think he keeps it real. The victim isn't always the victim...how many people's live's have they impacted by the path he or she chose? How many kids lost a parent? How about don't kill people? Life should be cherished...
May 31, 2012 at 10:08 p.m.
Do not be deceived,God will not be mocked, for whatsoever a man sows that he shall also reap.
Aug. 11, 2012 at 11:55 p.m.
So these fellow gang members apparently believe that this guy is resting in heaven and being embraced by God because he had a good heart and was a good son/father/cousin/whatever?? Seriously?? So God will just say oh don’t worry my dear gangster I will forgive all of your crimes to humaity, I will forgive you for killing, stealing and terrorizing because you had a good heart. Well must be nice! This is a man who didn’t find it enough that he had comitted crime but he had to CLAIM more crimes that he didn’t commit to get credit for and be proud of! You people are the reason why more and more people are running away from Los Angeles, myself included.
Aug. 16, 2012 at 2:07 p.m.
This guy impacted lives and his life and death brought people to discuss god and death and life in general so his death was not in vain but its a shame that we as humans can be insensitive to others everybody seems to think that syscom is a smoking gun by his comments but who gives him the ammunition Its all good in the hood there is nothing wrong with the struggle of life and surviving against all odds The problem is all the senseless killing whatever happen to just whoopin a brotha's a&& and him seeing another day We as black gangsters of to day are short sighted and shallow about life we make syscom3 possible by our actions not his words can we really be mad at him At the same time syscom lives in another dimension so its easy to judge something he doesn't understand degradation loss hope and empty stomachs and a host of other ills gangster should fight the establishment thats got the hood like the way it is not the same people in place where they are at how can it ever change People die because of a lack of knowledge not man's but God's Until that day come keep your head up how else can God smile upon you and you make the difference
in a dying community ...world

This man's life was stolen from him. I sure hope that his kids and family sued the CRAP out of the Sheriff's Dept for putting him in the cell with a loser who has 11 life sentences for MURDERING 11 PEOPLE! Really? How can you be so dumb? That's like putting a sheep in the cell with a hungry lion.
