William Perez, 48, a Latino man, was shot in the head at 3535 Roseview Ave. in Cypress Park in LAPD's Northeast Division at about 10:50 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3. He died at the scene.
Police got a "shots-fired" call and found Perez lying on the front porch, half in and half out of the front door. He had been drinking beer and watching football with friends at the residence earlier in the evening. The game was over. His friends were still in the back of the house. They said they didn't see what happened.
Perez was homeless, but was from Cypress Park, visiting old acquaintances, police said.
