Art Spoelstra was acquired by the Minneapolis Lakers along with Bob Burrow, Ed Fleming, Rod Hundley and Monk Meineke from the Cincinnati Royals for Clyde Lovellette and Jim Paxson on April 17, 1957. Halfway through his first season with the Lakers, he was traded to the New York Knicks for Bo Erias and cash.
