Bud Grant

Forward, #20 (also wore #14 )

Hall of Fame football coach Bud Grant took the Minnesota Vikings to four Super Bowls but came up short of a championship each time.

He did, however, win a championship ring as a player -– a basketball player, that is. The 6-foot-3 forward started his professional athletic career with the Lakers and was a member of the 1949-50 championship team, averaging 3.9 points per game in the playoffs.

After two seasons in the NBA, Grant switched to football, playing six years with the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles and CFL's Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He then spent 10 years as coach of the Blue Bombers and 18 with the Vikings.
